MOTOCADDY BREAKS NEW GROUND WITH A WORLD FIRST
Renowned for constantly pushing the boundaries of design, technology and performance, leading powered golf trolley manufacturer Motocaddy is delighted to announce the launch of the new S5 GPS, the world’s first motorised trolley to incorporate a built in GPS system.
Destined to be one of the most talked about golf innovations in 2009, Motocaddy has teamed up with leading Golf GPS specialists Sureshot to create the S5 GPS and offer golfers what is in effect the ultimate golf caddy. Not only will it take your clubs round the course, it will also give you exact distances to hazards off the tee plus distances to the front, middle and back of greens thanks to a Sureshot GPS system that is integrated into the trolley handle.
“The S5 GPS is an extremely exciting addition to the Motocaddy family, as not only does it offer golfers the first ever powered trolley with an integrated GPS system it also encompasses the same abundance of features that are found in our award winning S3 Digital model,” commented Rod Brown, Managing Director, Motocaddy Ltd.
“We are really excited about the potential of the S5 GPS and look forward to offering golfers the perfect combination of the most innovative powered golf trolley on the market together with the most accurate GPS system available,” he added.
The S5 GPS gives golfers the ability to download courses direct from their PC onto a remote control handset and then upload them to the trolley wirelessly. The same handset also offers the added feature of hands-free speed control, allowing the user to control the speed of the trolley and stop it with the push of a button. But that’s not all the handset does – it also provides a very useful security function. The S5 will not work unless the handset is in range, so if the owner puts the handset in their pocket and walks into the clubhouse, a would-be thief will only be able to travel about 100 yards until the S5 becomes totally disabled! The S5 GPS can store up to 40 courses in its memory all of which can be downloaded from the Sureshot database which currently has an ever-growing number of 12,000 courses worldwide, including 2,300 in the UK. All Sureshot GPS courses are plotted by professional map designers and have been proven to be accurate to within one yard.
As well as being incredibly user friendly thanks to its high-resolution colour screen which ensures clear visibility in all weather conditions, the S5 GPS also gives golfers the option of recording the following stats as they play – fairways and greens in regulation, putts per hole, sand saves, up-and-downs and driving distances. These can then be viewed after the round on the unit and PC.
Continuing Motocaddy’s reputation for taking style and function to new levels the S5 GPS has an unbelievably lightweight and sturdy aerospace grade aluminium trademark S-curve frame, a simple and fuss free locking system which allows it to fold down compactly in one move for easy transportation and quick release wheels. It also comes complete with a highly efficient, lightweight battery and features a third generation 200W motor and whisper quiet gearbox.
The new Motocaddy S5 GPS will cost £599.99 and be available to purchase from July 2009 direct from the Motocaddy website at www.motocaddy.com or from leading pro shops and golf retailers across the UK and Europe in 2009.
